Welcome to the Challenge

What is The Scheffy Challenge? It's a fitness challenge at first glance but it's much more than that.

This is a community of support that has proven to be the key to staying the course in your transformation. Is that a body transformation? It sure starts there but goes much deeper than that.

We've put together a contest that has gotten people to take that first step into changing their lives. It's really for anybody though that wants to find the place to keep them accountable and focused. If you want to tone up, if you want to lose weight, gain weight, maintain what you have now, whatever, this is your place.

The Scheffy Challenge is a series of challenges designed to help you reach your fitness and well being goals. We'll start with a 30 day challenge beginning on June 1st and YOU'RE invited! Your physical activity can be anything from heavy lifting to just walking a bit each day. We'll walk you through this. There's a lot of experience in this community. Hit the Coaches tab and you'll see. Who knows, you might just *become* one of the coaches on our wall! It's not as hard as you think AND it's actually a great business opportunity.

So there it is folks... We're starting a 30 day challenge on June 1st and the guidelines and rules are posted for you. Just remember, there are no excuses left... we're not telling you that you have to get into elite physical shape to be in on this. You'll see, it's a blast to keep tabs on who's here and what's going on PLUS it's a proven strategy of success. There's a lot of success in this group and now you're a part of it. Welcome and settle in...

Your friend, Jason Scheff (Scheffy)

June 2008 Guidelines and Rules

1. You must sign up with an Independent Beachbody coach within the Team Scheffy organization. Click here for a list of coaches. Find the coach you want and within their profile you can sign up for free just by clicking on "Play The Game", or choose a product if you wish, but there is no purchase necessary to enter either "The Scheffy Challenge" or "The Million Dollar Body Game". Just remember, you must have a coach from Team Scheffy to enter "The Scheffy Challenge".

2. Once signed up with a coach, each entrant must fill out an Official Online Entry Form. The entry will include: (A) a current (not more than 48 hours old at time of submission) “before” photograph, taken along with that day’s newspaper so the date on such paper is readable; and, (B) an electronically completed Official Online Entry Form (collectively, the “Entry”) (Official Online Entry Form here). (before photos don't have to be taken half naked. You can take a fully clothed photo but just know that how much your photo reveals might be the difference in winning or not. Do what's comfortable for you, just make sure you have a before photo.) Photos will be kept private within "The Scheffy Challenge" and *not* put up on the site. They are for reference only at the end of the contest period.

3. You must log into WOWY 20 out of 30 days during the month.

4. You must log your *Accountability* daily in the specific thread of each month's challenge. That will look like:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meal 1: 1 cup oatmeal with 1 scoop protein powder and 12 blackberries

Meal 2: P90X Protein Bar

Meal 3: 4 oz chicken breast, grilled, 1 piece of whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomato and 1 cup steamed brocolli

Meal 4: 20 raw almonds w 1 1/2 oz low fat string cheese

Meal 5: 4 oz salmon baked, 1/2 cup of brown rice, 3 cups romaine lettuce, 2 tbsp lite dressing

Exercise: Chest and Back, Ab Ripper X

You can also write any thoughts, feelings, etc. in the accountability but the mandatories are nutrition and exercise accountability
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We will give a cutoff date for entries which will be one week before the 1st of the month. That gives us enough time to work out any glitches such as putting up a list of entrants to make sure everybody who signed up is accounted for. We will post a list on the Scheffland site with all the entrants. Don't worry about privacy, we will set it up for you to have a *nickname* to use for the public wall of entrants. If there's any problem just let us know and we'll work it out. That's why we should have a full week to sort it all out.

Once the last day of the month comes, we'll take a poll from the community, (that's you), of who you believe wins that month's challenge. Once we get a list of finalists it will go to the *Advisory Board*, whom you will be aware of on the "Coaches Wall".

As I eluded to earlier, I believe the winner of these contests will be a combination of physical changes, attitude and thought changes/evolution, participation (that's where the amount of days one logs into WOWY comes into play...) and levels of commitment/accountability. An example of that would be let's say 2 people start a challenge at the same time and they do pretty much the exact same thing(s) during the month. But let's say that one of them didn't want to put a photo up and maybe put something that didn't really show where they started from. Maybe a *headshot* instead of a body shot. You see where I'm headed with this? It's going to come down to "Who wants it the most" and that's pretty much what those of us who've broken through that barrier have discovered. Speaking for myself, I had to do something drastic. I *announced* publicly to my fans I was going to get in shape and that's because I knew I wouldn't be able to back out easily if I did that. Little did I know that was the first huge leap of accountability.

The last thing I/we want to do is embarrass anybody here. Do what's comfortable for you. I don't want to talk you into doing anything you don't want to. I'm just wanting to express my concept of how this thing will evolve and that's because I've seen it in the message boards of Team Beachbody. Those who REALLY put themselves out there, (myself included), have had the best results because of that.

That's another thing I love about the idea of this contest recycling every 30 days. Maybe somebody doesn't feel comfortable putting photos out there and just gets through a month getting used to it and then gets more involved the next month. It's a marathon, not a sprint!

That's pretty much it. Let me explain what this is all about. People have asked "How we do it... How we stick with it, etc." It's all about community. It's about showing up and being accountable. What you'll find is this amazing transformation that starts in the mind first and manifests itself in the physical body as time goes by. What happens is we see it in each other. That's what's so great about having a community paying attention to all of this and ultimately voting on a winner for each month. We see things in each other we don't see in ourselves.

This is all about finding our comfort zones and going beyond them to shake things up to really have a revolution individually. It's happened for many of us and we're here to share it with you. To help you find it yourself. I ask you to turn your brains off, make a decision and commit, like we did. I almost find myself suggesting taking direction but it's more subtle than that. It's just opening your eyes, seeing what people are doing, getting into it yourself and suddenly you're up and running! If you do that, you'll give yourself the greatest chance of making a turn in your life and never look back. How do I know after only being into this a mere 10 months as I write this? Because I re-commit every day and it keeps me on track. THAT'S why I show up, to renew my commitment to myself and you guys because I've gotten a life I couldn't have dreamed of. Oh, and if that's not enough... we're surrounded with some of the biggest Beachbody stars, people like you and me that were in the same shape as we are/were and they took this journey and now EVERYTHING has changed, for the better. Just look around, they're all here. We are in the presence of the super elite. Take advantage of that. We're not out there guessing anymore. It's all here in front of you. We're all here in the best of hands... welcome and settle in... Jason
